Guidelines

All guidelines, best practice reports, and consensus statements have undergone official CUA approval process and are the intellectual property of the Canadian Urological Association (CUA). Reproduction of these documents in any form requires the express written consent of the CUA.

Note that all older versions of guidelines are also available at cuaj.ca and on PubMed.

The guidelines do not supersede physician judgment. Treating physicians must take into account variations in resources, patient needs, and preferences.

CUA GUIDELINE (GL) Evidence-based guidance for broader topics requiring more comprehensive exploration.

BEST PRACTICE REPORT (BPR) Evidence-based guidance for one clinically relevant topic; must have one clear, focused question.

CONSENSUS STATEMENT (CS) Collective opinion of an expert panel

CUA-ENDORSED GUIDELINES (END) Developed by other associations and endorsed by the CUA Guidelines Committee
